Summer Sew-along request for prize donation

 

Thank you for considering being a sponsor or donating a prize to the 2026 edition of the Summer Sew-along!

For those of you who aren't familiar with me, I'm Jenn McMillan; founder of Sew Fine Thread Gloss (now owned by Soak) and I'm now back to regularly quilting, hand sewing, longarming and blogging about it all here on my website.

I'm happy to continue promoting Sew Fine Thread Gloss to the quilty world and will be hosting another summer sew-along this year! Starting in May I'll be posting a regular series of blogs introducing the sew-along, the sponsors, and the schedule. It'll be super easy for participants to join and sew along - the sew-along will run from June to September (4 months) and all I ask if that folks post 1 check in per month on Instagram and be subscribed to my newsletter. All blog posts related to the sew-along will have a "thank you to the sponsors" section with your logo and link of choice. 


Sew-along schedule & Coles notes

Registration: participants will register via newsletter form (I use Flodesk) with first name, email address and IG handle. All participant information will be private. The sew-along is open internationally.

Sign ups: registrations start mid May. 

Prep work: the month of June. Blog posts will include inspiration projects, color palettes, shopping their stashes, using scraps, and sponsor promotion. 

Kick off: Monday June 1st

Check ins: end of each month - June 30th, July 31st, August 31st, September 30th. Please note: I'm Eastern Standard Time, in Canada, so if folks are participating from another time zone that is drastically different, I'm asking that they please try to post their check-ins in advance. 

Last day: Wednesday September 30th! 

Prize qualification: on Friday October 2nd I'll be posting an Instagram post for those who completed all of their check-ins to let me know. Participants should comment with FINISHED on the post and I'll use these comments to determine the qualifying list for the grand prize. I'll keep the list in order based on registrations and remove anyone who did not complete the 4 check-ins. Then using a random number generator I'll draw the winning name, confirm they've completed all check-ins and announce the winner! I'll need the winner to provide me with a shipping address at this time which I will send to all the participating companies (for shipping purposes only). 

Sponsors & Prizes

I'm hoping to gather a collection of goodies, fabrics, tools and notions that would be used for hand-sewing purposes. Soak will be donating Flatter and Sew Fine Thread Gloss, and I would love to have some other products to "sweeten the pot" and give participants the motivation to finish. 

If you're willing to donate an item, please email me at jenn(at)fabricink(dot)ca. Please also forward your logo, a photo of the item and item details. 

Alternatively (or in addition), if you're willing to provide a promo code for patterns or products that would benefit this hand-sewing event, that would be greatly appreciated as well. 

Instead of everyone shipping prizes to me (as I've done in the past) I'd ask that companies ship their prize directly to the winner at the end of the SAL.

If you can confirm your participation by Monday April 6th, that will give me time to get the sponsor logos/information ready for the registration launch.
